Handselling Tips:
The page across from the title page in A Fabulous Fair Alphabet was deliberately left “open”
in the hopes of encouraging families to record their own Fair Alphabets. Recommend picking up a Sharpie™ Fine Point marker to write directly in the book. Send words into the future! Imagine if we had such a record of our grandparents’ visit to the fair!
Newsletter Material:
Check the For the Media page for items to drop into your electronic or print newsletter. You’ll find photos of the book pages, author pics, fair signage, and press release language. To get the code for embedding the video in your website simply link to the video page at debrafrasier.com or to the video on YouTube or TeacherTube. Kids have loved viewing this. Make sure to add the time: 2.5 minutes, so people know it is not a big deal time commitment.
Counter top activities:
If you have a state or county fair in your area, print off a sample of the game card to display. Add the 8-1/2 x 11 inch countertop poster that describes the game, if you have the room on counter or bulletin board. Let your local parenting magazines know you are a source for the book and the game.
The FIND YOUR FABULOUS FAIR ALPHABET Game Card is a single sheet download that is folded. Encourage customers to download their copy at home (or give away printed copies with books). Take the cards to the fair and “come home with more words than you brought!” Mention the introductory video at debrafrasier.com or on YouTube (Fabulous Fair Alphabet) to help get their kids on board.

Video:
Kids love watching the 2.5 minute video of Debra introducing the FIND YOUR FABULOUS FAIR ALPHABET game at the Minnesota State Fair. Great ride and midway game footage. Lively original music. Show to finish an in-store event or have playing during fair season. Show for Teacher Nights when Fall comes, encourage playing the game as a end-of-summer activity. Video page.

Storytelling Script |
Slides—See how the book was made:
See an eight image slide show of how Debra Frasier collected the lettering, cut, printed, and collaged the lettering into the pictures in A Fabulous Fair Alphabet.
Virtual State Fair Visit:
Coming soon: Look for the slide show of a fair visit including animals, rides, food, exhibits, crafts and farm machinery. This is an introduction to the concept of a fair for classrooms, libraries and bookstores to use when visiting a fair is not feasible. Show it to generate word brainstorming for an imaginary visit to the fair.
Storytelling Kit:
The gifted Kimberly Faurot, storyteller extraordinary, long-time reader at the Red Balloon Bookshop in Saint Paul, MN, has designed and tested a “fabulous” approach to presenting this alphabet book. Her participatory method of storytelling is exceptionally well received by very young listeners. Cherry-pick the parts you like from her extensive script for A Fabulous Fair Alphabet. See the at-a-glance picture overview for directions. Download the complete kit.
